This album is a love song to Bermondsey and the River Thames.

Fay layers her voice to play with melody, harmony and rhythm. Spa Songs evokes the feeling of folk choirs and is inflected by diverse influences; such as Early Music and grunge. The work is composed in response to Bermondsey Spa, the traces of its former monastery, warehouses and artist's studios, and thematic re-occurrence of floods, fire, rituals and retreat. Fay uses polyphony to explore the boundaries of self and community.

These demos lay the foundations for subsequent live performances.

FAY is a London based visual artist and performer working with painting, staging and song. She graduated from CSM in 2006 and the RCA in 2011. She performed SPA SONGS at the Brunel Museum London, 2018. Fay has performed internationally. With Katz Mulk and Jenny Moore's Mystic Business she has performed at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, Cafe Oto, London, Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge. ... more
